From Ketchikan, Alaska, a jetplane excursion to Misty Fiords National Monument -- "the Yosemite of the North." Granite cliffs soar 2,000 to 3,000 feet above sea level, and 1,000 feet beneath the water. Part of this incredible place has been designated as "non-wilderness" (although it clearly is wilderness) because of a gigantic deposit of molybdenum -- and its future mining potential.
