Rachel Field premieres Louis Karchin's "Prayer" for solo violin at the Institute & Festival of Contemporary Performance 2008.

A composer of "fearless eloquence" (the New Yorker), Louis Karchin has been honored with performances of his music by such groups as the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Louisville Orchestra, the Group for Contemporary Music, the Delta Ensemble of Amsterdam (Holland), and Spectrum Sonori (South Korea). This past February saw the premiere of his latest song cycle, The Gods of Winter, with Jan Opalach, bass-baritone, and the Da Capo Chamber Players. The interpretation revealing that homosexuality was the "grievous sin" to which the Lord referred to in Gen 18:20 becomes even more apparent when we consider what is said in the New Testament about the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. For example, Jude wrote:

Notice that Jude (whom is the brother of our Messiah Jesus) describes the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah as fornication (or "sexual immorality") and "going after strange flesh". You also notice that nothing is included about the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah as a lack of hospitality! Only those fornicators desperate enough to justify their homosexual conduct would fail to see what the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah really was. Sadly, today, America promotes abortion, homosexuality, pornography, false science, illegal immigration, witchcraft, feminism, transvestism, and many more evils. In lieu of such wickedness, do you think YHWH is going to bless Immorica...I mean America? You're right, I didn't think so. The Las Vegas--Sin City Chamber of Commerce website http://www.sincitychamberofcommerce.com, mocks YHWH, even promoting legalized prostitution at the "Chicken Ranch" and the "Wild Kat Ranch" outside of Las Vegas.
The demonic Sin City Chamber of Commerce website is decorated with serpents, serpents seducing women, and a red apple with a bite taken out of it. Thus, mocking the Biblical account of Eve being seduced by Satan; and her sinning, by eating of the forbidden fruit. The website promotes several strip clubhouses, escort services, and links to pornography. Listen folks, this nonsense is coming from Las Vegas' OFFICIAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE!!! YHWH is NEVER pleased with such wickedness.
The evidence recovered from the Bab edh-Dhra excavation site reveals vast amounts of bitumen (which ironically contains enormous percentages of sulfur and heavy metals) and artifacts of inhabitation towards the end of the Early Bronze Age. The recovered evidence matches the biblical Sodom & Gomorrah story like a jigzaw puzzle. Even if we were to lay aside the Word of YHWH for a moment, common sense should reveal to us what Sodom was like. Just look at the morals of our world today, especially the United States, Canada and Europe. The United States today is MUCH worse than Sodom & Gomorrah ever was!
Remember, Sodom didn't have the magazines, photos, videos, or internet to produce pornography. Yet YHWH literally rained down fire and brimstone in fierce judgment upon Sodom and Gomorrah. YHWH's judgment upon America will be infinitely greater than that which fell upon Sodom. Hell will be extremely hot! People nowadays are so indifferent concerning sin that they fail to realize just how wicked society has become.
We all acknowledge the horrific judgement that fell upon Sodom & Gomorrah; just imagine how YHWH feels concerning the sins of America alone. Even the U.S. Navy recognizes Wicca witchcraft as a legitimate religion. The U.S. accounts for 25% of the world's child-sex tourism. Hollywood produces the most lascivious, adulterous, murderous, damnable movies on earth. The Walt Disney company is owned by Satan, producing godless movies which corrupt children with rock music, New Age philosophies, feminism, and witchcraft, sin-tolerant diversity, homosexuality, and other sins.
In conclusion, Jude 1:7 plainly tells us that YHWH destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of their sexual sins. We read in Genesis 13:13, "But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly." Surely a degree in theology is not required to acknowledge that the word EXCEEDINGLY meant that these men of Sodom were rotten to the core. It is obvious to anyone who believes the Word of YHWH, that Sodom was predominantly homosexual, and these homosexuals were violent (as it is often the case today). Satan's crowd can attack YHWH, Christians, morals, and the Bible all they want--YHWH is still on His throne in Heaven and will ultimately prevail in victory over the wicked! A-'men

The eternal destruction of the ancient cities of Sodom & Gomorrah are prime illustrations of what happens when a nation mocks the sacred morals of YHWH. In retrospect, the mimicking wickedness of the modern cities of Sodom & Gomorrah is, of course, America. From the devilish school teachings of evolution to the sexual depravity of homosexuality, America's fate is long due in drinking chastisement from YHWH's cup of wrath. Despite the ferocious natural disasters which YHWH Almighty has delivered unto America (such as Hurricane Katrina for example), she still doesn't comprehend the omens of warnings from YHWH. Instead, she (America) ignores those disaterous omens from Christ and continues to live her life corrupted with sin and resisting redemption.
Recently, I was watching the History Channel and there was aired a video in the "Histories Mysteries" series titled "Sodom and Gomorrah." The video features the ancient Biblical cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, and presents information from Christ-hating skeptics who doubt the Bible's accuracy concerning what led to the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. I do remember one of the main skeptics, Dr. Carole Fontaine, a feminist theologian, states...
"We sometimes find when we look at Bible stories that people think they know what they say. When we look more closely we sometimes find that the text is ambivalent."~Dr. Carole Fontaine
Ambivalent? Hmph, how laughable. According to Dr. Fontaine, the greatest sin of the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah may have been their inhospitality towards their guests visiting their city, and not sexual deviance (disregarding the mob of sodomites about to break down Lot's front door and homosexualize the angels - Genesis 19:4-9). Unbelievably, Fontaine claims that rampant homosexuality in Sodom and Gomorrah was not the sin which brought God's judgment.
However, this miss Fontaine woman needs to look at the entire Word of YHWH, not just Genesis. The Bible clearly states in the New Testament, in Jude 1:7...

Wow, talk about irony...I don't see any mention of "hospitality" in this verse, but I do see "fornication" and "going after strange flesh." "Going after Strange flesh" is lusting after flesh (sex/gender) which is contrary to YHWH's design of nature.

Therefore, Sodom and Gomorrah were infatuated with sexual deviance, filthy behavior, and every form of godlessness ever known to mankind during that era. This today could be likened to Sayville, New York--a town so queery that it is commonly referred to as "Gayville," or of "Sin City" Las Vegas in Nevada.

I remember our third president of the United States of America, Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson, one of our nation's illustrious founders, was not, according to historical records, a strong biblical Christian. Yet, as Governor of Virginia, in 1779 Jefferson introduced bills to punish homosexual sodomy with the penalty being banishment and castration. There is no record that anyone at the time accused Mr. Jefferson of bigotry, homophobia, or hatred. Obviously, Americans back then were a great degree wiser than they are today--especially from a political perspective.
Today, no politician, no king, no man or woman admired by the public dares to declare the homosexual what he/she really is: a "sinful reprobate." If they were to do so, they would be literally and immediately, shunned by the media, and their careers and reputations utterly destroyed. However, the biblical Christian has no option but to reveal the truth—that homosexuality is a vile abomination, for Jehovah, God Almighty has declared it. And who among all the world's powerful and famous can rationally criticize His commandments? Who is so ignorant as to even attempt to refute His decision?
Homosexuality is so destructive upon society that Jehovah God commanded Israel to execute homosexuals (Leviticus 20:13). With no thanks to Hitler's "Big Lie" propaganda technique, there are so many lies about homosexuality which society has been decieved to believe. Homosexuals target innocent children and can cause sexually transmitted diseases. There was NO tolerance of homosexuality in the Old Testament days. Sadly, American society today increasingly promotes and worships homosexuals & homosexuality.
America has become a giant Sodom and Gomorrah--the notorious city that Jehovah destroyed because of sinfulness and sexual deviation. As America declines morally, the government is increasingly desecrating our rights. Transgression does not escape without paying it's due cost. More evidence of homosexual propaganda occured after the brutal Matthew Shepherd incident (that of which the proposed LGBT hate crime law is primarily based on) in 1998. As a result of the incident, Matthew Shepard has become a poster boy for homosexual activists thanks to massive media attention. But what about Jesse Dirkhising? Have you heard about this brutal incident that took place in 1999; a year after the fatal attack on Matthew Shepherd?
In the small town of Rogers, Arkansas, 13-year-old Jesse Dirkhishing died a horrible death at the hands of two sodomites and almost nobody heard about it. After their arrest, one of the men confessed that he sneaked up on the boy from behind, bound and gagged him and sodomized him repeatedly while the other man watched and gave instructions. After taking a break to eat a sandwich, they noticed that Jesse had stopped breathing.
