(Part #3, Ken Fischer interview + a closing performance by Glen) Back in 1992 guitarist Nigel Brewer hosted a cool local cable TV show called Rock Study. On his show he featured many Washington D.C. area guitarists and on this one featured me, Glen Kuykendall AND amp guru (the now late) Ken Fischer of Trainwreck Circuits in Colonia, NJ. Here I played an original 1959 Gibson Les Paul but NOT through the same Trainwreck Express amp seen in my other videos. Instead I played the LP though a 1991 Trainwreck Liverpool into a single 1x12. (FYI Brad Paisleys recently acquired Trainwreck amplifier is also a Liverpool) I was pretty nervous here, it being my first time interviewed on TV. In 1992 Nigel had also interviewed Ken Fischer in Kens basement amp workshop and some of that footage was also on this same show. Nigel was one of my first guitar students, that I had taught back in the early 80s. Quirky, witty, and informative Nigels Rock Study show was WAY ahead of its time!

Every year, Conrad Bladey of Linthicum, Baltimore County, throws a Guy Fawkes Night celebration. It's a British traditional fire ceremony held around November 5th. In 2008, he invited firespinners to perform at the party. Here they are...two spinners from the troupe Dance Afire.

Two turkeys wrapped in collards are transported to the earth oven for cooking on hot rocks. The rocks were heated over night and till 10 am the next morning. This took place in Linthicum Maryland outside of Baltimore at the celebration of the Center for Fawkesian pursuits. Speakers and presenters are conrad and margaret bladey.

Linthicum was great! We didn't place in the first 4 classes, but there was over 17 competitiors. It was to be expected in a crowd when you were getting cut off or boxed in a second of your ride. But our most advanced class, Long Stirrup, was amazing. We took two 5ths. Flat and Jumping. Flat was..interesting. Romeo has a red ribbon in his tail, yet people still didn't get the memo NOT TO RUN UP HIS BUTT! I put the ribbon there so he wouldn't bolt when he heard another horse coming up fast. So what happens? Rude rider who disregarded the signal, nearly got her horse kicked in the face. Romeo was going to bolt, but I held him back. He only broke into a choppy, upity canter.
Anyway, jumping went grand! He took all the spots I told him to take and it was a real sense of accomplishment.
We did have near-disasterous fog in the morning, but it cleared though the day. It was overall a good good ride. Next week is another BVF!
