Archuleta has been working on his album with such well-known producers and songwriters as Eman (Nick Lachey, Backstreet Boys), David Hodges (Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry), Midi Mafia (50 cent, Nelly), Wayne Wilkins (Nastasha Bedingfield, Kylie Minogue) and Steve Kipner (Christina Aguilera).
"Crush," the first single off of the album debuted at #2 on Billboard's "Hot 100 Singles." During its first week of release, "Crush" dominated the Billboard "Hot Digital Songs" chart in the #1 position, selling over 166,000 downloads.
The runner-up on the 7th season of "American Idol," David is from Murray, Utah, a town outside Salt Lake City. While on the show, he came to national attention and captured the hearts of a nation with several show-stopping performances.

Born in North Miami, Florida, David Archuleta's father was a jazz musician who was always playing the trumpet around the house. His mother was a singer who performed locally. He first started singing at the age of six, after being inspired by a Les Miserables videotape, but wasn't really aware of pop music, until he watched the first season of "American Idol." When a family friend saw that "The Jenny Jones Show" was looking for "Future Latino Stars" she urged his parents to have him try out. Based on a performance over the phone, a producer booked the 11-year-old to sing on the show. Next, David tried out for Star Search. During the second season he was invited to compete on the show and appeared on three episodes in early 2003, winning the Junior Category. He continued to watch American Idol and when he was finally old enough his friends and family urged him to try out. Recorded at Lagoon Amusement Park located in Farmington, Utah. Which is about 17 miles north of Salt Lake City. This performance is from the show called Monster Classics. which is part of the Frightmares celebration that takes place at the park every October. The performers are from the local area and most of these performers have been performing at Lagoon for at least two seasons and some for much longer.
