  Henderson is a city in Henderson County, Kentucky, United States, along the Ohio River in the western part of the state. It was called "Red Banks" by the native Americans who originally lived and hunted there because of the reddish clay soil on the banks of the river. The population was 27,373 at the 2000 census.
